OUR MISSION
The mission of The Learning Tree, Inc. is to address
the academic, social and developmental needs of
elementary and middle school students by providing
extended day and summer enrichment opportunities for
them to engage in activities that foster an interest
and proficiency in science, technology, engineering
and math (STEM); and to provide academic support,
tutoring and test readiness skills by certified
educators, paraprofessionals and STEM practitioners
in a stimulating technology rich environment that
young people love to learn in.
The Learning Tree is a non-profit 501 (C) (3),
Community Based Organization, incorporated in the
District of Columbia.
The driving force that strengthens our program is
the experience and skills of the highly qualified
DCPS teachers and paraprofessionals who provide an
extension of the school day in a relaxed and
friendly child centered environment.
It is our belief that children can be intrinsically
motivated to learn in a milieu that is nurturing and
supportive; that fosters inquiry and discovery; and
provides opportunities for constructive
communication and team building with their peers and
their teachers.
